This phrase was coined originally by journalist, Alexander Hamilton in 1978. It is however, most commonly known for its usage by African-American Activist Malcomn X who used it as a proverb in one of his speeches.
Despite its many appearances in speeches, movies and even rap songs the impact of the phrase stands strong in its meaning. In order to stand one must have a strong foundation, or it will crumble beneath them. If a person is easily influenced they are left persuaded and gullable. People of no substance represent nothing.
Our organization is built on our loyalty to one another. The things we believe in are the things we hold true to. It is the strong unpenetrable bond that holds together through adversity. We stand up for what we believe in and fall to no other. We are the masters of our fate.
